Jenny Vogal - The Desert

This video was interesting. I felt like she really drew you into the story. I feel like the beginning with the music didn't set the scene very well and took a long time, but once you got into the room and space and she begins talking, I felt like even though it was a different language I could place my own personal experiences onto her story.

She talks about someone who she invisions being with, how she would wait for him anywhere. But that every time they meet, it will be somewhere different but always the last time she will see him. When the speaker says no, it sounds like a different voice. Like she is contemplating everything in her head and there are two separate versions. One which is an optimist, hopeless romantic envisioning a future, and the other more realistic, saying no, these things won't happen. Claiming her love for him is more than his will ever be. Through both of these at the beginning I wondered which would end up becoming true. but then it goes on to say that they meet but he forgets and it starts over a new every day and she sits and waits. I cant tell if this is in her mind and mentally debating only to repeat different scenarios, or if this is him actually having a memory problem and he keeps forgetting her. or if it is an analogy for something else.

I enjoyed the video as well as the overall length, though I do wish the beginning were cut down

Claire Bishop - Digital Divide While reading this article, I found it very interesting to see Bishop talk about research and curative work. In the past I wouldn’t think of curation or researching art to be an art form. However, after reading the portion about collecting pictures of Niagara Falls, I realize that it can be a form of art within documentation.  I often times perceive digital art as lesser than other forms of art because I think we have taught to think that way. When more people have access to creativity, it seems that it has a lesser value. I also think this is due to the fact that there is no limit to the art you can find, however this is different when you go to physically see pieces in a museum for example. I chose Kendall Jenner's Instagram because of how it is a mix of her showing "her personal life" but also her modeling career and family and everything. but in reality, it is still all particularly chosen to show a specific persona. something relatable but also unachievable. I included an image of her saved stories because this is her literally categorizing her life into little bubbles and labeling them.
